This is my dear friend Carly. While I am more than 30 years her senior, this 20 year old "pint size" young lady has inspired me in so many ways (and many others I am certain)
Carly came into my boutique about 5 years ago looking for a dress. We became fast friends, and I adore this CHAMPION of life.
Carly was born with a rare condition called Morquio Syndrome Type A. She is 3 foot tall. And she is "all heart".
Carly has just undergone yet another major surgery. Carly has had no less then 12 major surgeries in her life, and many other procedures.
Naturally this has put a financial strain on her family because when your child is sick, you need to be by their side. So her parents have naturally had to take time off from work to be with Carly during her surgeries and recovery period.
In my many talks with Carly one thing she has always wanted, but has never had was a bedroom and a bathroom to accomodate her small stature.
My wish is that we can all rally together for this special young lady and her loving family to not only alleviate some of the medical expenses (Carly is in a wheelchair about 50% of the time as she tires easily) but that her family can FINALLY afford to renovate Carlys bedroom and bathroom to suit her small stature. I would also love if they can put a little "nest egg" away for Carly.
I wish you all knew this young lady the way I do. She always has a smile on her face, and giggles like no other. She is incredibly special to me, and I pray this touches your heart, the way Carly has touched mine.
