Povey Family Fire Relief Fund
Donation protected
Our dear friends, the Povey family tragically lost their beloved home of 23 years in the Vacaville LNU Lightening Complex fire. They were awoken by a phone call from a friend at 2am on August 19th, warning them that the fires might be getting close to their home. They looked out their window and sure enough saw flames creeping in the near distance. By the grace of God they were able to get out safe, but only had enough time to grab their shoes, the family dog, Pablo, and a laptop. When they were able to return to their home, all they saw was ash and rubble. Their home and barn filled to the brim with passed down family treasures, pictures, film, pieces of art made by Scott and Mary, antiques and collectibles had been utterly destroyed by the flames. Everything was lost.
To say this home was special would be an understatement. To so many, the Povey home was a second home, filled with so much love, with doors that were always open. Mary and Scott are some of the most loving, generous, selfless people I know. They have brought joy to so many peoples lives and continue to spread positivity, even during this time of great loss. It is truly incredible.
I am setting up this fund as the financial strain is overwhelming and we would like to help our dear friends as much as we can. With a contribution, your funds will go directly to Scott and Mary to purchase necessities that have been lost and to help with food, lodging, clothing, and clean-up efforts. The cost of just cleaning out the rubble and hazardous material is at least $55,000. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will help the long recovery process ahead! Much love!
