On October 20, 2023, my 4-year-old nephew DJ was taken to the hospital for what was thought to be just a bad ear infection. He did in fact have an ear infection but imagine all our shock when we heard the devastating news that they also found a grapefruit sized tumor (Medulloblastoma) on his brain which required him to be admitted to the ICU and proceed with surgery. After a 10-hour long surgery to remove the brain tumor, our sweet boy is now on his long road to recovery.

DJ is currently recovering from surgery and the doctors have informed my niece, Brittney that DJ will need to start chemotherapy and radiation once he is strong enough to proceed with that process. At his upcoming appointment, DJ’s mom will be informed of the entire course and scope of treatment of our sweet boy.

As I’m sure everyone can imagine, this has taken a toll on my niece Brittney who not only has to be DJ’s full-time caretaker but also for DJ’s infant sibling. Brittney has been unable to work as DJ requires full time care and her bills are adding up. If you can find it in your heart to help, we will be eternally grateful or if you can, please share so this can reach someone else with the means. Family is everything to me and to see them already going through so much both medically and financially, I am reaching out for any help possible to make this process easier for my beautiful niece and sweet baby nephew.
