Second Annual Pat Fontes DJ Marathon for ALS

Donation protected
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neurone disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a specific disease that causes the death of neurons controlling voluntary muscles. A-myo-trophic comes from the Greek language. "A" means no. "Myo" refers to muscle, and "Trophic" means nourishment – "No muscle nourishment." This horrific disease currently has no cure and the hope for living a type of normal life quickly vanishes from that who are impacted it.

In December of 2016 we learned that one of our own Pat Fontes was diagnosed with it. If you are a DJ there is almost no doubt that you have had him hand a record to you at Satellite records, or if you are a dancer have had him play to you at many parties the past years. To us he is a friend and brother. For the second time The Good Deed DJs come together with our local scene for 55 hours to raise money for Pat Fontes and the Massachusettes ALS Foundation.

From Friday June 7th at 5PM until June 9th at midnight we will have over 60 DJ's donating their time, effort and love to Pat and all of those impacted by ALS. Our kind hosts Hennessey Sound Design and Mutiny/Supreme Sound have agreed to let us use their places of business for 48 hours, while the closing party will be at the Providence Rooftop at Pub G.
