Rachel's Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kristie and sadly this past Friday, (11/5/2021) I lost my daughter. She was the first born of four and my only girl. From a young age Rachel was extremely bright. But more than that, she was loving, giving, and could light up a room with her infectious smile and laugh.
Unfortunately, Rachel also had another side. She fought with depression from a young age and this eventually caused her to turn down another path towards drugs. I don't want to make this about her mistakes though. Rachel made mistakes, yes, but she was also full of life and loved by so many. Sadly, the drugs were what led to her demise and the day after agreeing to let her best friend take her to get some help she overdosed .
She left behind a lot of people who loved her. Three brothers, a mother, a grandmother, and most of all, a seven year old son. She also left behind an extended family. She had countless friends. And we are all heartbroken that she is gone way too soon. I, as her mother, am shattered. I will never see my daughter fall in love with 'the one'. I will never see her in a white dress walking down the aisle to a future husband with whom she'll grow old with. I will never have the joy of watching her raise my grandson and any future children she may have had.
I am asking for donations to help with the costs of my daughter's memorial. Because of the fact that I am financially unable to cover the costs my own mother has had to borrow money that needs to be paid back. Due to lack of funds we are not having a funeral. We are only able to afford the cremation and the urn with the borrowed money and that is what we are asking for help with. I would also like to help my mother with the cost of travel expenses back and forth to come here and the money she's spending to bring us and the rest of the siblings together to celebrate Rachel's life.
Please, if you can, any little bit will help. Anything raised that goes above the cost of her cremation and memorial will be placed into an account for her 7 year old son's future college fund. Thank you so much for your time.
