Don Jr., aka, DJ born in 1982 Stuttgart, Arkansas. During his childhood, DJ was expose to a lot of trauma and disfunction, but still remand a fun and loving kid who kept a smile and infectious laugh.
In his early teens, DJ moved to Pine Bluff, but would often go back to visit friends in Stuttgart. During a visit back to Stuttgart DJ was unknowingly laced. His marijuana joint was dipped in embalming fluid, commonly known as “wet”. This began DJ’s ongoing battle with drugs at just 17 years old.
Due to being laced DJ suffers from Hallucinations, Psychosis, Paranoia, and Schizophrenia.
In 2008 DJ was involved in a high speed chase and crashed into a tree. As a result of the car accident, his leg was amputated and his jaw was wired shut for months.
During his recovery process in 2009 DJ met a Special Significant Other. She nursed him back to health, helped manage his appointments and take his medication.
Following this life changing experience DJ’s Father passed away in 2010, his older Brother passed away in 2011, and his Mother passed in 2012.
His Significant Other continued to do all she could to help him. Sadly, she passed away in 2018.
DJ’s destructive behavior and drug use increased. DJ was then incarcerated in 2020-2024
Upon his release from prison DJ began to live with little sister in where she helped him to stay on his medications and go to all of his appointments.
DJ started going back to church every week and doing family activities, but the strong hold of drugs and street life has always been DJ’s biggest downfall.
His sisters got him medically committed in August of 2024. However, by law mental hospitals are only required to help patients become medically stable and properly on medication for approximately (7-10days) Once that is accomplished these patients are released.
Family has assisted DJ in applying for Social Security check. Currently waiting for approval letter. (Time frame is 3-6month waiting period)
In the meantime while waiting we are asking for donations and love to help DJ gain some sort of stability and obtain a home and the means to pay for proper care.
Funding will go to:
A new prosthetic leg (so he can get out the wheel chair)
Clothing
Shoes
Groceries
A furnished room/home
Home health aide (until his Medicaid approves home health aides)
DJ is so much more than who you see. DJ is a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a nephew, but most importantly he’s human.
The world isn’t always fair and we never know someone’s story.
Let’s choose to be kind and share love.
