Face Shields to Save Lives

My name is Mathieu and I am a junior at a Western Massachusetts high school. I have extensive experience with 3D printing and have been teaching 3D printing classes to elementary school students since I was in 8th grade. I am donating my time and 3D printer to fabricate face shields for those working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are over 66,263 cases and rising of COVID-19 in Massachusetts. There is a critical need of PPE (personal protective equipment) supplies at our local hospitals, nursing homes, grocery stores, homeless shelters and other facilities. Face shields are vital for keeping staff from contracting COVID-19. I can produce one face shield at 40 minutes each (80 minutes printing two at a time) with PETG filament. Additional supplies include plastic sheets and elastic bands. Total cost per shield is approximately $3.  My goal is to 3D PRINT 2,000 face shields or more and to DONATE them to medical staff and those in need in Massachusetts.
