Hello friends and family,
I never imagined I’d be writing something like this only three years into Harlow’s life, and I’m still in shock at how quickly everything has unfolded.
Earlier this week we found a lump on his leg, and after tests and some incredibly hard conversations with his vet, it was confirmed to be osteosarcoma. After a lot of thought and tears, we’ve made the heartbreaking but necessary decision to amputate his leg.
This decision was not made lightly. Harlow has been at the centre of every thought, and everything we’re doing is with his best interests at heart. Thankfully, it’s his back leg, and mastiffs naturally carry most of their weight on their front legs. While this will be a huge adjustment for both of us, his vets are hopeful that he will adapt quickly and still have a good quality of life.
As difficult as it is to ask, any donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward his surgery, ongoing care, and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping Harlow in your thoughts means more than we can say.
Thank you so much for your love, kindness, and support.
