Help Django Walk Again: Urgent Surgery Needed

Our Story:

Hi, I’m Caity from Vancouver Island, and I’m reaching out for help to fund my beloved dog Django’s urgent ACL surgery. Django, a resilient 5-year-old rescue pitty mix, has been my rock since I saved him from a kill shelter in Arizona when he was approximately 10 months old. After battling health issues early in life, Django faced a major setback in March 2022 with a torn ACL, leading to a costly $5,738 surgery. He required a plate and 6 screws resulting in a “8 scar. Struggling with high-interest loans from the first surgery, I’m now in a dire financial situation as Django has sadly torn his other ACL and urgently needs another surgery.

Why We Need Your Help:

Django’s condition requires a TPLO surgery costing $5,738. Despite managing to get him a wheelchair for $765, my financial resources are drained. I’m on disability and have limited funds. The surgery, along with necessary travel for post-operative care, means I face significant expenses. I need to take time off work to care for him, adding to my financial strain. We must travel to Chilliwack for his post-surgery recovery to stay with my grandma because my apartment has 15 stairs incurring costs for transportation and stay. With your support, we can cover these costs, ensuring Django gets the care he needs.

Django is more than a pet; he’s a loving soul who's brought immense joy into my life. His tough start in life hasn’t dampened his spirits. Despite his pain, he remains a playful, affectionate companion who longs for the company of friends and the joy of the outdoors. His injuries have isolated him, and it’s heartbreaking to see him unable to live the active life he loves. Thankfully with his wheelchair we can get out for a lot longer at a time. I can see how much it’s always helped him.
