Hello, I'm Aaron and pictured is my buddy Django (pronounced with a silent "d"). Django is a gentle giant, Lab Dane mix. I rescued Django when he was found running for weeks through the Nevada desert. He's turned out to be an amazing dog, who loves walks, pets, and stealing my spot on the couch . Unfortunately, Django needs an expensive knee surgery which is scheduled for Jan 11th. He can still get around ok on three legs, but it's not sustainable. Django has already had surgery on both knees by two different veterinarians. He currently needs surgery on his right knee because his first surgery (a tightrope intervention) has failed. I learned after the fact that this type of surgery is inappropriate for a dog of his size. I have since switched vets and with his new vet, Django had a successful knee surgery (called a TPLO) on his left knee. The vets and I are hopeful that this will be Django's final surgery and will enable him to regain his mobility and live a happy, healthy dog life.
