Racer Wheels on the Go!!

I was born in war-torn Liberia, West Africa at 2 months premature, diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy at age 1. I grew up in France, where in addition to developing an appreciation for food and culture, I also received medical care.

While in High School here in Canada, I discovered wheelchair sports, first testing my skills on the basketball court. I met my coach James Hustvedt a year after graduating from University, and never looked back since.  I am still constantly growing. In 2013, I established personal bests in all track distances, including a 20 minute personal best in the Sun Run 10K, which I take part in every year.  Last year I established a PB in the 100m, which earned me my first national championship title.

What I love about wheelchair racing is the sense of freedom I get when I’m in my groove on the track. When I achieve what I want I have a drive to outdo myself, which means that I am never bored in my sport. I work hard with the vision to persevere and I love what I do.

I train under the umbrella of the Wheelchair Race Series and BC Wheelchair Sports Association.

This year my big goals are to represent Canada in Switzerland and at the Toronto 2015 ParaPan American Games. I cannot get there without your help and support!!!

Off the track, I have been teaching for 3 years in High School French Immersion. I love to read, write, eat/cook, shop and spend time with my family and friends. Being in sports has given me so many things and I am looking forward to paying forward. Let's make strides together and help me see my vision through!!!
