Hi. My name is Jasmin, and I’m starting this GoFundMe to help support my dad, who recently got sick and was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney failure, and hypertension. My mom and dad went on vacation to Jamaica in August 2021. After being there for 2 days, my dad began throwing up. He was throwing up more than 4 to 5 times a day, and eventually passed out. He received CPR, and was transported to a hospital due to his blood pressure being 240/135. He was unconscious for 3 minutes and 47 seconds.

He was stabilized enough to return home. After five days in paradise, my parents couldn’t have been more ready to leave. They were told that they would have to stay in Jamaica another 2 days, because American Airlines canceled their flight due to Hurricane Ida. My dad returned home only to be put into the Baton Rouge General Medical Center for 9 days. He is currently on dialysis, and has been since January 2022. IT HAS BEEN A ROUGH YEAR!! NO ONE will hire him because of his condition. HE IS CURRENTLY IN NEED OF HELP IN A FINANCIAL WAY. He has prescriptions that his insurance doesn’t pay. He needs clothes because he has lost a tremendous amount of weight, etc. It has been extremely hard for him to get back and fourth to DOCTOR VISITS, DIALYSIS APPOINTMENTS, AND SURGERIES because he needs money for gas. Having the money to get the day to day necessities to stay alive and well, has been extremely exhausting. He is looking forward to the day he receives the call saying that he has a new kidney.
