Milton’s battle
Donation protected
Milton García is a 37 year old father and husband in the battle for his life right now. He recently suffered a seizure at work, was rushed to the ER and was told his malignant brain tumor had regrown and needed immediate surgery.
In the year 2000 Milton García came from Guatemala to the United States to join his family in hopes of a better life. Like most immigrants newly arrived he struggled to adjust at first but quickly learned the language and graduated high school later that year with honors. He started working as a car washer/valet at a car dealership in the neighborhood and eventually after a lot of hard work and dedication he moved up the ladder and finally landed his dream job at a prominent car dealership as a salesman. He was very knowledgeable and honest and quickly rose to keeping top rank amongst the salesmen.
In 2013 he married his girlfriend of 2 years and a month later was excited to learn he was going to be a father.
Life was perfect for Milton he was successful at work and happy at home until late 2013 while walking the car lot at work he suffered a seizure. He was rushed to the ER and was told he had a malignant tumor that needed surgery for removal and even with successful removal wouldn’t live past 5 years. This terrible news devastated his family. But he didn’t give up that easily... after 3 surgeries, multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Milton was back at work within a few months and with a new lease on life he dedicated himself more to his job and the bosses took notice.
Soon after a manager that was leaving the state offered him a deal to leave California and move to a dealership in Arizona with promises of working less hours so he can have more “family time” while getting more pay. He couldn’t refuse.
Life again was fantastic for Milton, he had now surpassed the 5 year mark. He bought a house, had a second baby and then it happened again. In the blink of an eye without prior notice he had seizure at work once again was told the tumor was back and now stage 4. He has undergone a successful surgery to remove the mass but not all the cancer was removed as it has now interweaved itself in the brain. He is once again fighting for his life, undergoing harsh chemo treatments. Milton is young and has always been in good health. To be told he has stage 4 brain cancer at 37 is tough but he continues to pray and stay positive. He has recently been approved for a trial medication which in some cases has been proven to slow tumor growth. He is hopeful but unfortunately as much as he wants to has not been able to return to the job he loves so much and the medical bills are now rolling in and his insurance only covers a fraction of the ever-mounting costs, and doesn’t address living expenses for him and his family since he’s been unable to work.
As such, we are asking for donations to help him and his family during this sad and difficult time. Milton is currently in California undergoing treatment and has been forced to leave behind his family and home in another state which consists of his wife Xena Ocampo, his daughter Xena and son Diego. He will not be spending Christmas with them this year.
Please keep Milton in your thoughts and consider donating as he continues his challenging journey.
We’re grateful for your kindness.
