Dan’s Top Surgery

Hello! My name is Daniel Elliot and I am a transgender male.

I came out as trans five years ago, when I was just about to turn fifteen. It’s definitely been a difficult journey with plenty of ups and downs. I was lucky enough to be able to start HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) about three years ago.

Since I came out, one of my biggest insecurities has been due to my lack of top surgery. I currently use safe binding techniques in order to flatten my chest, however finally being able to get surgery to make this permanent would be a life changing moment for me, as well as a step in the right direction to being my authentic self. This surgery will eliminate most of my remaining gender dysphoria.

For this procedure I have decided I would like to go down the path of private health care. I want to be completely happy with the end results, as much as I am set in this decision it also makes funding incredibly hard, as most surgeons have high rates, including who I would like to go with for my own surgery.

It’s a tough step for me to reach out for help when it comes to funding for my surgery, however I figured it would be worth the attempt in order to finally help myself.
