Our sweet boy DJ Glitter Kitty had an unexpected, life-threatening medical emergency, which has resulted in a multiple-day hospital stay.

On Thursday night, DJ started vomiting and refusing food. This continued into the morning, and I took him to the vet immediately. His body temperature was low, and his blood work showed stress on his organs. He tested positive for pancreatitis. The vet had us transport him to an emergency vet and warned us he may not make it through the car ride.

He responded well to treatment, and they were able to get his body temperature up to normal (from 94). He is on a lot of pain meds with a very angry pancreas. DJ is still refusing food, so he'll be getting a feeding tube inserted today.

We are hoping we can bring our big kitty home soon, but until then, the bills are mounting. We know DJ has brought joy to a lot of people (including us), and this is a tangible way to support him as he recovers from this sudden and scary illness.

We are so grateful that we got to bring DJ home Sunday night. While his care has cost close to $9,000, it feels worth it to have our boy home. Every dollar makes a difference, so thank you for everyone who has supported DJ and us!
