My name is Rachel, and I’m creating this GoFundMe together with Todd Barker, a close family friend and DJ’s best friend. I am also the best friend of Michelle, DJ Garrison’s partner, and together we are doing everything we can to support her and DJ’s family during this heartbreaking and sudden loss.

DJ Garrison passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident just one day after celebrating his 40th birthday. He leaves behind Jenna, whom he was previously married to for 18 years and had four beautiful children: Madison (16), Haley (15), Brady (13), Layla (9), and Michelle, who loved him deeply. Michelle and DJ shared a powerful, genuine love. The last year together was one of the happiest times of his life.

DJ was a loving father, a loyal friend, and someone who made everyone feel seen and welcomed. A true biker and a gentle soul, DJ touched so many lives. He loved the feeling of being in the air and experiencing flight, and anyone who knew him would tell you he was a wizard with tools. Whether fixing bikes, rebuilding engines, or helping someone repair something broken, DJ could fix almost anything. He will be forever loved and missed.

Because his passing was so sudden, there was no life insurance or preparations in place to handle the immediate and significant expenses the family is facing. Some of the debts he leaves behind were co-signed, creating unexpected financial strain during an already overwhelming time. The family is doing everything they can, but they need help to manage the practical responsibilities that come with such a tragic loss.

We are raising funds to help cover every essential expense, including:

-Transporting DJ from Texas to Massachusetts so he can rest near his family

-Funeral, service, and burial costs

-Roundtrip flights for 7 family members: DJ’s four children, Jenna, Michelle, and DJ’s sister Nicole. So, they can all gather in Massachusetts, where DJ’s parents live and where he grew up (DJ’s mom cannot travel to Texas due to her health)

-Support for the household where the children live, including the mortgage, utilities, and daily needs

-Assistance with co-signed bills and outstanding financial obligations, to relieve pressure during this difficult transition

-Stability for the children for the year ahead, helping ensure their home and essential needs remain secure

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to help cover these urgent and necessary costs.

97.1% of all donations will go directly to DJ's sister, Nicole Garrison, who is the beneficiary and 2.9% covers the GoFundMe platform fee.
