Hi my name is Ryan and this November i’ll be running 100k over 7 days through Tanzania to help raise for funds for an incredibly brave little girl and her adoring family who are the fighting the most cruel and painful fight imaginable.

Dixie is a 11yr old cancer survivor who previously beat osteosarcoma but is now fighting secondary lung cancer whilst being supported by her mum Roxanne, dad Dean and siblings Theo and Luna as well as friends, extended family and their community who are all doing what they can to help this beautiful family through the worst of times

The idea of any child having to cope with this horrible disease once is almost too much to bear so the idea that Dixie and her family are having to do it again whilst being denied the support they feel will help Dixie in this fight is heartbreaking.

Dixie is just 11 years old, yet she has already endured more than most adults could ever imagine. She has undergone major surgeries, been left with limited mobility in her right arm and leg, experienced cancer relapse twice, and is now living with cancer without a current treatment plan that offers a clear path to becoming cancer-free.

Roxanne and Dean feel very strongly about taking a whole-person approach to supporting Dixie and wants to give her the best possible chance of rebuilding her strength and continuing to fight. But the costs of doing this are substantial, and the financial pressure on the family is immense.

Roxanne has had to give up work to care for Dixie full-time, while Dean has thankfully been able to take time away from work to support Roxanne, Dixie and their two other children. Alongside travel and treatment costs, there are also the everyday expenses involved in supporting Dixie's wellbeing — from the best quality food and supplements to therapies and other supportive approaches that the family believe may help her.

Her family are not ready to give up. They are determined to keep searching, keep asking questions and keep exploring every avenue they can.

If you are able to support Dixie and her family — whether through a donation, sharing their fundraiser, or simply keeping them in your thoughts — it would mean more to them than words can express.

Every contribution, no matter how small, could help ease some of the financial pressure and allow Roxanne and Dean to focus on what matters most: being there for their daughter and giving Dixie every opportunity they can.
