Hello, my name is Theresa Thayer. On July 23rd my husband, two year old son, and myself had to evacuate Greenville California due to the Dixie fire. We then went to stay with my mother and father in law in Chester California. Unfortunately on August 3rd we had to evacuate chester. We since have gone to Oregon to stay with our extended family.
On Wednesday Greenville was overrun and decimated by the fire. I am fortunate enough to say that we believe our apartment survived, but we still have no confirmation. I am incredibly thankful the five of us, along with our three cats and one dog made it out scared but unharmed. However both of our homes are far from out of the woods. This fire has been dangerous and unpredictable.
My in-laws are elderly and disabled living on fixed disability income and unfortunately my husband was in an accident on July 18th resulting in a broken elbow. Since then he has been out of work and struggling to get temporary disability started up. Between the five of us we have already used up what little savings we had. We cannot expect our family to continue providing for us until we are able to return home.
The five of us are humbly asking for donations so we can afford the basic necessities to tide us over. This includes groceries, medications, baby supplies, pet supplies and gasoline for our vehicles.
We hope to safely return home soon, but until then we need help. Thank you all so much for reading, and from the bottom of my heart thank you for all of your generous donations. Any and all are so very appreciated. Much love to everyone, God Bless you all.
