For a period of our lives, to think we would have the chance to celebrate Diwan's first birthday with him seemed so out of reach and unrealistic. Now planning his 4th birthday celebration, as parents, we are overwhelmingly grateful to the small army of family, friends, providers and strangers that have helped us to get to today. We are beyond proud and amazed at all of the unimaginable challenges Diwan overcame in his young life. To be given the chance not only to survive but to thrive and grow into the curious, comical, wild child that Diwan is today is the greatest gift all of us have received and we need nothing more. Through Diwan's journey, our eyes were opened to many other families going through similar tragic and terrifying journeys. We would like to use Diwan's honor to help fundraise for institutions/charities that work to make this journey a bit more bearable for these families.

Your gifts will go towards the following 3 charities equally:

1. CHOP- without CHOP, Diwan would not be here today. No words can fully describe the magnitude of the work, care and hope this institution provides families.

2. Ronald McDonald House Charities- We were offered the wonderful services of this charity but were so fortunate to live close enough to CHOP to not need them. However many other families are not as fortunate. RMHC help to provide housing and many other services that help keep families together and close to CHOP.

3. Head Over Hooves Farm- A beautiful family ran animal sanctuary in Coopersburg that help animals in unfortunate circumstances recover and receive a chance to live their best lives. Diwan loves to visit this farm. We found connections with many animals here as they too have an unwavering will to live and are on their journeys to healing. This is also the location of Diwan's birthday party!
