On Sept. 28th, 2022 Hurricane Ian hit Southwest Florida as a Category 4 destroying thousands of businesses and homes. Three of those businesses are the reason that I’m starting this GoFundMe.
For the past 2 ½ years I’ve had the pleasure of working for this family. They are the owners of Divine Naples Coffee Shop, Divine Naples Spa and OrGetUs Marketing Company. All three businesses are located in the same building but individual units just blocks from the pier and beach. You can find them on Google: 847 4th Ave south, 851 4th Ave south and 865 4th Ave south right in the heart of downtown Naples.
As a result of the devastation brought about by Ian, everything in all 3 business spaces came under 3 feet of storm surge water. This family has poured their life savings into these small businesses. Not only will they have to pay for the restoration of the flooring and walls, which technically put the businesses on a stand-still with no income, but they are going to have to replace all of the equipment that was ruined with the saltwater such as 6 fridges, 3 freezers, all cabinets, expensive electric massage tables, all furniture, multiple expensive computers, etc…. you get the picture. Most likely they will also be required to pay rent for all 3 units even though they cannot operate out of them. Their income as well as their employees’ income (some of them working for them over 12 years) that they all depend on every day has ceased until they can reopen for business.
They’re not only the most humble, selfless people I know, but they’re also the biggest givers. During the covid pandemic the family refused to shut down so that they could serve the local community, first responders, and people in need as the only open business in downtown Naples. This was not done for recognition or a pat on the back, but simply because they love the culture and people of Naples. Divine Naples was created out of a vison for local businesses in Naples and surrounding South West Florida to help and promote a vibrant community. A community is only as strong as its people, character and economy. This family has been in Naples for over 26 years and doesn’t plan on leaving. They are committed to rebuild and come back strong. They have never relied on the government to bail them out and they never received a penny from them.
The coffee shop has always provided for all first responders, they even were running coffee and food to them at all hours of the night when the police officers were on patrolling entry points during the shutdown www.coffeeshop.divinenaples.com . Since they opened in 2010 Divine Spa has been donating free massages and facials for the ladies at our local shelter for abused women to make them feel valuable www.mydivinespa.com . The marketing company, ORgetUS, created the biggest online portal www.DivineNaples.com with 23 websites and a very active social media giving local businesses a space to shine for free and informing public and people around the world about life in Naples, Florida. Find DivineNaples on Instagram and Facebook where you can view all of their social media and listen to their podcasts or watch the live broadcasts they made during and after the hurricane.
Please make a contribution to this fund to help restart all 3 businesses, get people back to work and give the community back their great services. In doing so, you will be helping a great family and a neighbor in the short run, but also investing in the future of Naples. *PLEASE SHARE THIS LINK*
