The Fort Bend County Judge and team is dedicated to maintaining awareness and trust with our community. Following recent events including but not limited to the death of George Floyd and many other alike we believe it is our duty to give light to racial injustice in our world and support those who have taken a stand against it. As one of the most diverse counties in the country, we represent the diversity of our world and have a responsibility to create and maintain an equitable environment for us all. With this said the county in partnership with the University of Houston will be hosting a series of initiatives in support of our diverse community and especially African American population. We believe our goals will help to foster a stronger, supportive, and collaborative community ready to join hands as we tackle the challenges of tomorrow. Our initiatives include: a mural at University of Houston Sugar Land showcasing Fort Bend’s diversity that brings strength, an infographic highlighting our black-owned businesses, a webinar in partnership with local projects discussing business management during this time, and more.
The County Judge Team and our partners are working very hard to make these goals a reality, but the beginning of a stronger community starts with your collaboration and support. Many businesses, community leaders, and volunteers are already supporting our efforts of bringing awareness to racial injustice by becoming aware of their words and actions, donating to similar causes, and educating others on current injustices. Your donations will help fight racial injustice with a symbol of hope for the future for all the community to enjoy. Your donation is also tax-deductible. Upon completion of the sponsorship packet, our Office Manager, Shaneka Smith or a Fort Bend County Representative will contact you to collect your pledge. We will happily acknowledge your donation on our website, the mural unveiling program, and webinar events. Once again, I thank you, on behalf of the University of Houston and Fort Bend County, for taking the time to read this letter. It is partners like you whose participation will inspire and fulfill many of the aspirations of our community. We appreciate your valuable time and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Please email Keri Schmidt, [email redacted], the final page of the sponsorship packet with documentation of your donation amount. If you have further questions, contact this email as well.
