Growing up I've always wanted to change the world for the better.Seeing all the injustice today I'm moved to do something to make a positive impact. While I don't have the power to change laws I do think I can help change hearts and minds. I want to bring diversity and inclusivity to the sport I love.
A lacrosse stick is not only a tool to play lacrosse it can also be an instrument for dismantling the systemic racism that has long pervaded this country. It’s a tool that can pry open the gates to worlds that kids of color and underprivileged youth have long been excluded from and expose them to opportunities they’ve been denied. Playing Lacrosse creates friendships, experiences and perhaps most importantly opportunities.
Lacrosse can fill a kids heart and open their minds and fuel dreams. It is my wish to create greater access to these tools and diversify the sport I love. I hope to raise enough money to buy a new stick for every participant in Harlem Lacrosse and help provide what they need to play lacrosse. Something they can take pride in and carry with them as they pursue their dreams.
All funds raised will go directly to and help support the mission of Harlem Lacrosse. Let’s work together to create a future for lacrosse that we can all be proud of.
