Diver UP Statue

After successfully raising all of the money needed to build this 24 foot statue of “Diver UP” for Burning Man in 2020, COVID hit and most of the funds disappeared. So here we are two years later, back at square one. Fortunately, one of the investors will match dollar for dollar, all of the money raised on this platform. So every dollar that you donate will be double. How incredibly grateful I am for this.

The money is needed for designing, building and transporting her to and from Burning Man. She will be made with a steel infrastructure and a fiberglass shell. She will also be interactive, as you will be able to enter through a door in her back, and into a world of information that will educate participants on how we can live harmoniously with the oceans and ocean life of our planet. You will even be able to climb up into the helmet as it will be a lookout tower. How fun!

The inspiration and symbolism behind “Diver UP” refer to the Age of Aquarius, where metamorphosis and spiritual awakening lie in the air. The combination of an industrial helmet juxtaposed against the feminine form in its purest state highlight the contrast of man-made versus Mother Earth. The motif shows the Goddess freeing herself of the controlling force that has been imposed on her, a metaphor for society, history and mankind. The intention of “Diver UP” is to open up a conversation about a new world of equality and, within that, the divine feminine goddess celebrating womankind and mankind in unison. A beautiful new world that invites/allows/accepts/celebrates everyone for their individuality as part of the NOW.
