Diva! Live From Hell for Philly Fringe!

Hello friends! For those of you who know me and those of you who don't (hi!), my name is Jack and I am a theatre maker in Philadelphia!

This September, I am producing and starring in a one man show called Diva: Live From Hell! The show will be part of the 2024 Philly Fringe Festival and run September 5th to the 14th at the Skinner Studio at Plays and Players Theater.

Making theatre while incredibly rewarding, is very challenging financially. I am making this GoFundMe because I need your help! I know times are hard right now for all, but if you find yourself in a position to help bring this show to life, I would be beyond grateful.

About the show: As president of the drama club at Ronald Reagan High School and the star of every school play, Desmond Channing spent most of his short life in the spotlight. But when Evan Harris, a hotshot transfer from New York, challenges his throne, Desmond responds, as any diva would, with lethal force. Now, stuck in the Seventh Circle, Hell’s most squalid cabaret venue, Desmond is forced to relive his disturbing tale of woe. As he presents his one-millionth consecutive show, Desmond performs with a desperate vigor in the hopes that he can prove he’s repented and be freed from this eternal, campy torment.

This show will be presented as part of the 2024 Philly Fringe Festival and tickets will be Pay What You Can.

I am looking to raise $2,000 to build this show. This helps cover Royalty Cost (costs to legally be allowed to do the show), it helps with Venue Rental, Set, and helping pay for my lovely crew. Each and every dollar is helpful.

"But Jack, have you done this before? How will your show work?"

Great questions! I have been producing for the last 2 years with my company OJ Productions. I directed and produced Romeo and Juliet for the 2022 Philly Fringe Festival, also in the Skinner Studio at PNP.

And just last summer, I directed and produced Little Women! (Both Pictures by Hannah Hobson)
