Help Muslim Prisoners Draw Closer to Allah
Donation protected
Assalamoalaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatohu,
In conjunction with Himaya Haven (http://himayahaven.co.uk/), we are looking for charitable donations to print 2000 copies of my book, ‘Drawing Closer to Allah and His Prophet: A Practical Guide’ for our Muslim brothers and sisters incarcerated in UK prisons.
For every £2.38 you donate, we will be able to print and distribute one book.
Muslims make up just 4% of the UK population, yet 18% of the prison population. While the majority are prisoners due to criminal behaviour, they still remain our Muslim brothers and sisters, they still remain a part of our community.
As Muslim parents and families, Mosques and religious community as a whole, we need to recognise our failure in not providing our children with a true Islamic upbringing, that would protect them from engaging in such activities. But as a community, what do we do about our Muslim brothers and sisters who are already in prison? Do we ignore and forget about them as a lost cause?
In the Qur’an, in Surah al-Insan, Allah describes the pious Muslims who will be enjoying the comforts of the Gardens of Paradise and drinking from its sweet rivers. He describes them as those Muslims who helped, who spent their wealth, who gave food to the poor and needy, the orphans, and the prisoners. And indeed, this is the example of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The most valuable help we can provide Muslim prisoners is the means to strengthen their faith and increase their Islamic knowledge. This will not only help them reform during their time in prison, but after their release, in how they reintegrate into society.
To this end, in conjunction with Himaya Haven (http://himayahaven.co.uk/), we are looking for charitable donations to print 2000 copies of my book, ‘Drawing Closer to Allah and His Prophet: A Practical Guide’. This book has been written to provide a means by which thoughts and behaviours relating to the following, fundamental aspects of religion can be changed:
• Purity of self: avoiding sins
• Reciting the Qur’an and praying Salah
• Following the Sunnah, and sending peace and blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him)
• Fasting and giving charity
• Accepting the Divine Decree
Each chapter introduces the topic using Qur’anic verses and Prophetic Hadith followed by practical advice on how to act upon these, with space to record progress. Sincere engagement with this process will help develop lifelong habits of practicing our faith with understanding.
Please consider donating as a form of Sadaqah Jariya (ongoing charity) that will benefit you in this life and the next, as well as the wider Muslim community.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “…Verily, Allah, His Angels, the inhabitants of the Heavens and Earth, even the ant in his hole and the fish, send blessings upon the one who teaches people what is good.” (Tirmidhi)
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a reward like one who did it.” (Muslim)
Jazak’Allah Khair.
