Dis-topia: An Original Musical

Donation protected
Hi! We are Matthew Deegan, Robby Good, and Abigail Torrence, the writers and composers of Dis-topia! Dis-topia is an original, full-length musical set in EPCOT, Walt Disney's Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. We are aiming to put on a production with a live orchestra on February 17th, 2024 that will serve as Robby Good's Masters Thesis in Composition from UCLA, but shows are expensive. We are a trio of young people with a deficiency of funds, and we could use all the help we can get in order to get this show on its feet.

About Dis-topia:
The frozen head of Walt Disney has been revived, and the very first thing he does is build his final dream -- EPCOT, a futuristic city where he has complete control to try make the ideal community. A recent college graduate and self-proclaimed "Disney Adult" Vera Nelson is thrilled to move to Disney World with her father, but when she gets entangled with a group of anti-Disney revolutionaries known as the Lost Boys, she must attempt to retain her innocence while reconciling with the man her hero has become — and may always have been.

The show features 18 original musical numbers, with one being newly written for this production.

This Production:
Dis-topia has been performed twice before, but this time the writers and composers are taking the helm. Matthew Deegan is directing, Robby Good is music directing, and Abby Torrence is performing while also assisting in the production process. It is currently planned to take place on February 17th, 2024 in Santa Clarita, CA. This show also acts as Robby's Masters Thesis for his degree in Composition from UCLA.

The Money:
We are trying to make the best show we can, but we aren't exactly rolling in dough. While we are applying for grants, these alone will not be enough to cover the cost of the show. The primary expenses are space rentals for both the show and rehearsals. Money also needs to be spent on props, crew, transportation, and all the other costs that putting on an ambitious project like this incur.

Tiers:

If you donate certain amounts, we will include your name in the digital program as a thank you for your generosity. These will be separated into four different tiers relative to the amount donated.

1. Lost Boy — $100+
2. Board Member — $50-99
3. Imagineer — $25-49
4. Citizen — $10-24
