Distant Brothers wants to make a CD!
UPDATE: APRIL 16TH
Distant Brothers is a folk rock group from Chicago. We write music that combines various instruments, voices and genres into a worldly sound. The goal of our music is to bring people together, which we reflect in our songs and lyrics.
Whenever the four of us talk to fans about the band, we're always asked the same question; where can we hear some good recordings of your music?
To date, we haven't been able to answer that question - we shied away from the fact that we had very subpar recordings online - the recordings we had weren't of a quality we were comfortable sharing with too many people.
We started this campaign needing your help, and in just 5 days, you've overwhelmed us. We've raised over $1,500! Your donations are going towards studio recording and mastering of our first EP.
The EP will feature six songs that will demonstrate our eclectic style.
As we've mentioned, 10% of what we receive we will donate to a DuPage County food pantry named Loaves & Fishes, because we believe in more than ourselves. Our music is all about bringing people together, and this way, with our tithe, we can help our distant brothers and sisters.
This campaign will end May 5th, so there is still time to give! From here on out, everything we receive will go towards new equipment that is essential for recording a good sound (a new djembe, lots of new strings, and spare parts) and other miscellaneous items that will help our band function.
Any continued help is greatly appreciated. Thank you SO MUCH for your support! Now, for your entertainment, here are a couple videos of our original songs (that will be on the EP!).
Blessings,
-Distant Brothers
