Disrupting the Digital Divide

I am reaching out today with a plea that is close to my heart and mission: bridging the digital divide for students in alternative settings and secure schools. I have dedicated the past eleven years to working with underserved student populations, championing the cause that every child deserves a high-quality education and access to the essential tools they need to be successful.

As an expert in juvenile justice, I've traveled to secure schools across the nation, tirelessly striving to transform and redesign education in confinement. Now, I have been presented with the incredible opportunity to attend the Google Champion Symposium in Singapore, an international event that aligns perfectly with my vision.

With your generous financial support, I will be able to collaborate closely with Google to further my cause, create a global network of like-minded champions, and advocate more effectively for my students. My attendance at the symposium includes plans to visit students in confinement in Singapore, which will foster a cross-cultural understanding and establish connections between secure schools in the United States and those abroad.

Moreover, the insights and experience gained from this international exposure will enhance my ability to work with traditional school districts, better informing our approaches towards discipline, policies, and alternative schools.
