Displacement expenses related to house fire

My name is Tammy Eisen. Our team is starting this fundraiser on behalf of our wonderful co-worker Dan Boyer.

On January 22, 2024 their home started on fire and they are in urgent need of financial assistance to secure temporary housing and other things that go along with unexpectedly losing ones home.

Dan and his family (including his wife and four young children) reside in the Erie, Pennsylvania area. We could really use help with spreading the word and sharing the fundraiser to their local area. Most (if not all) of our team does not live in close proximity to the Boyers. If you could take the time to share this in the Erie Pennsylvania area, we would all be very grateful to you.

They are all extremely grateful to be safe, but our hearts break for them - we could feel the agony Dan was experiencing when he said it was a "horrific feeling" and they are homeless. Dan is such a kind human being and we know it is heartbreaking for him to see his children scared and sad. It's hard to imagine what it is like for the kids to lose special blankets or stuffed animals or things they might normally find comfort in.

What we know so far is that fire department was able to extinguish the fire before it spread beyond the kitchen and living area but they cannot stay in their home due to the extensive smoke damage and soot. At this point, we do not know if the home will be salvageable in the future or if the damage will exceed the value of the home. They have a long road ahead of them and we want to support them as much as we can.
