My name is Cecilia Jackson, and I’m a proud single mother doing everything I can to care for my family. Over the years, I’ve raised a total of 10 children — both adopted and biological — and several are still under the age of 18 and in my full-time care. I also care for my 24-year-old adopted daughter who has special needs, and I’m the full-time caregiver for my elderly father, who is battling dementia.

I’m a lifelong adoptive parent, and providing a safe, loving home for children in need has been my life’s mission. It has brought me more joy and purpose than I can express.

But right now, we are facing an unimaginable crisis.

Our home was recently destroyed by a devastating fire. It was a rented home, and we lost nearly everything. Thankfully, we are all safe — but now we are homeless. We’ve been staying in a hotel as I continue to work and do my best to provide for my children, but the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming.

Finding a new place to live has been incredibly difficult. Due to the size of our family, we need a home with enough bedrooms to accommodate everyone — something that is scarce and often far out of our price range. Every day in the hotel brings new challenges, from rising costs to the strain on my children’s sense of stability and safety.

Despite all this, I’m not giving up. I continue to work and care for my family with everything I have. But we need your help to get through this incredibly difficult time.
