Displaced by Bombing in Beirut — Need Help to cover expenses
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Rakan, and I’m from Beirut, Lebanon.
Recently, my neighborhood was hit by Israeli airstrikes. The explosion severely damaged my home and over 120 other families' homes nearby. It’s heartbreaking to say, but I now have nowhere to go — my building is unsafe, and I can’t return. Rents in the area have spiked due to the crisis, making it nearly impossible for someone like me to afford a safe place to stay.
Some of you may have seen my post that went viral on Reddit (over 6.6 million views and 80k upvotes):
My PC survived the bombing
While my gaming PC somehow survived the blast, my apartment didn’t. The irony is that the screen was badly scratched, but everything else around it — furniture, windows, parts of the ceiling — was destroyed or heavily damaged.
I'm now seeking help to cover basic rent costs and relocate to a safe area. This isn't about luxury — just safety, stability, and trying to recover from a life-altering crisis.
Since GoFundMe doesn't support bank transfers to Lebanon, the donations will be received by a close friend in Belgium, who I fully trust. They will forward the funds to me directly in Lebanon, likely through secure means like USDT or international transfer.
Our main goals are always to protect donors and make fundraisers safe and successful. I’m committed to full transparency, and I truly appreciate anyone who takes the time to read, share, or contribute to this campaign.
Even the smallest help makes a difference — thank you for standing with me during this incredibly hard time.
With gratitude,
Rakan
