Displaced by a fire, starting over.

Hi everyone, my name is Kady Norwood my family has lived in the town of Ellington for over 40 years. Today I am asking for help on behalf of my brother James and his long-time girlfriend Kari. On Thursday, 1/20, a fire broke out in their apartment building in Vernon. Their neighbor's apartment had caught on fire, leaving at least 10 people without a place to sleep. Thankfully my brother and Kari made it out safely with all of their cats. Red Cross was able to help them with housing for 4-5 days but will need to move on and start over from scratch. Around 2018 my brother was diagnosed with MS and is unable to work. More recently, he has had two back surgeries with rods and screws put into his back. Kari works as a CNA, but is finding it challenging to have to start over. They have lost everything, their clothes, bed, and all of their furniture etc. The apartment complex has been deemed unlivable for the foreseeable future, so they need to start looking for a new place to call home. Any help would be so greatly appreciated and will be used to help with a down payment on a new apartment, bills, furinishings, etc. Thank you all, and God bless.
