Disforia FC has received a historic invitation: to participate in the Gay Games XII in Valencia, Spain—one of the most important LGBTQIA+ sporting events in the world. An invitation that not only recognizes our work, but also opens a unique opportunity to give visibility to the Chilean trans community on an international stage.
We don’t just want to play football. We want to carry our stories with us, represent the Chilean trans community internationally, and show that trans people play sports too.
Disforia FC was born in 2019 from a very simple yet difficult need for our community: to have a safe space to practice sports and be ourselves. A place to play without fear, without uncomfortable stares, without questions, without having to explain who we are.
We are a trans and non-binary team from Santiago, Chile. For many of us, sports were never a space of care or safety. That’s why we decided to create our own. A space where football became an embrace, support, community, and family.
Since 2019, we have built trainings, networks, bonds, and resistance. We have created a place where trans people can play football without hiding who they are, where bodies are not judged, where identity is not negotiated, and where dignity is a right—not a privilege.
To make this dream possible, we need your support to cover travel, accommodation, registration fees, uniforms, and food expenses. We don’t have major funding or institutional backing. What we do have is community, dignity, and a deep conviction that this journey matters—and that it will have a historic impact on our community.
By contributing to this crowdfunding campaign, you are sustaining a community project, supporting trans visibility, and defending the right to play sports.
See you in Valencia!
