Discs for The Ghana Flying Disc Federation
We hit our first fundraising goal!!!
I'm fundraising to buy 100 discs to send to Ghana. The president of the GFDF has been showing the good work they've been doing to grow the game of ultimate in Ghana . From clinics teaching kids, training coaches and even meeting with the Ghanaian Minister for Youth and Sports !
To help them in their efforts please donate what you can. The more we raise the more discs we can send.

* The GFDA is a recognized governing body by the Ghanaian Ministry for Youth and Sports. This means customs duties and taxes are waived for the discs.
* We are exploring the best options for shipping at the moment. The GFDA has a lot of contacts with the US Embassy in Accra who are helping figure out the best ways to send items to Ghana from the US.
We are seeking quotes on disc prices right now and haven't landed on which discs we will send. The GFDF will make the final decision on which discs to order. I have personally advised them on the choices of ultimate disc to purchase to the best of my ability. In the end the choice will be theirs.
* The intention is to have these discs printed with the GFDA logo. This will allow them to give discs to important contacts (such as the minister for sport) as well as make them seem "cooler" to the kids they're trying to recruit.
If you have a box of discs you're willing to part with for this drive please get in touch with me directly. For reasons of logistics I'll only be able to send discs in boxes of at least 25 discs.
* Some people have asked about misprints. 2021 is a very different market than 2019 when it comes to misprinted discs. During the pandemic disc golf exploded in popularity (in no small part to ultimate players all becoming disc golfers). Disc manufacturers received less orders for ultimate discs during to this time and thus produced less misprints. Discraft does not offer misprint discs for purchase at this time. The quote per disc for 100 discs from Discraft is $5.70 and 5.25 from Aria. I have yet to see any misprint deal that would be competitive with either of these quotes. If we meet our initial goal of 1000 we will start looking at buying even more discs which will give us a further bulk discount.
