The Discovering Your True Self Mentoring Program empowers disadvantaged Black and Brown San Franciscan young men toward becoming leaders in the community. Give today, and Share! Black Lives Matter!

The Discovering Your True Self (DYTS) Mentoring Program - founded at led by Phelicia Jones, MCP - empowers formerly imprisoned San Franciscans to become self-sufficient leaders in their families, neighborhoods, and communities. With Black San Franciscans comprising only 5% of the San Francisco population, but being more than 50% of the jail population – we know that Black and Brown San Franciscans are over-policed and over-incarcerated – under a longstanding status quo of systemic racism. The DYTS Mentoring Program helps young adults see and provide a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.

The Discovering Your True Self Mentoring Program is a developing new program led by Phelicia Jones, MCP.  Phelicia Jones has more than 20 years experience in developing programs for incarcerated and post-incarcerated men and their families.

The DYTS Mentoring Program works primarily with young men between the ages of 18-30. The goal of the program is to assist young men in developing new ways of thinking and behaving, in order to address the many challenges in their lives. Participants pledge to take a "stronger stand", as it relates to changing their lives. They also pledge to not set their standards low, and to set goals and achieve them. Discovering Your True Self Mentoring Program breaks down self-hatred, and promotes self-love. It challenges their motto, for which they are willing to die: money, sex, drugs, guns and gangsta rap.

Participants who excel in Discovering Your True Self, are offered a weekly stipend, and the chance to participate in speaking engagements, at both local and statewide colleges and universities, middle and high schools, conferences, rehabilitation programs, etc.
