Annyeonghaseyo! My name is Precious, and I'm a sophomore at Manor High School. I've had an interest in Korean culture for years, ever since I first heard about K-pop and its catchy beat. But my interest goes far beyond wonderful music; I'm fascinated by Korean history, from the Joseon Dynasty to the country's incredible modern-day transformation. I have also become interested in learning the Korean language and would like to improve my communication.

This summer, I have a great opportunity to witness all aspects of Korean culture personally through a four-week program with the CIEE organization. This trip is a chance to put into practice everything I have studied and surround myself with a culture that I have always had a passion for, and I hope you can help me make this dream a reality.

This amazing program will take me to Seoul and Busan. I'll be taking intensive Korean language classes at a university, touring legendary historic spots like Gyeongbokgung Palace and the serene Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongju. I'll also get to participate in a traditional tea ceremony, go to a Korean cooking class, and sample all the incredible street food – from tteokbokki to bibimbap! I'm most excited to visit the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) and learn about the Korean War and its long-lasting impact.

The price of this incredible trip is $4,000. This includes $1,500 for airfare, $1,000 for excursions and cultural events, and $1,500 for incidentals and spending money. Every dollar donated will be used directly to make this dream a reality, allowing me to fully reap the benefits of this life-changing experience.
