On June 15th, 2020, Dolores found water damage in her kitchen, laundry room, and utility closet due to a water heater leak.
She did not realize the leak has been going on for some time which caused extensive damage to the kitchen cabinets and extensive amounts of mold.
Dolores' husband died last year and she has been left to handle this situation on her own. Modular homes do not stand up to water damage like convention homes and unfortunately, her homeowner's insurance policy that was in place at the time of the loss would only cover $10,000 which only covered the costs of the demo, cleanup of the mold, and temporary cooling during the heatwave.
Dolores is now left with a $35,000 repair bill to rebuild her kitchen, laundry room, utility closet, HVAC unit, etc.
Five Star Restoration & Construction has offered to match all donations up to $5,000. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help her get back into her home.
