Disaster Relief to La Virginia, Colombia

On Tuesday, May 18th a dam that was holding back two rivers near my Grandmother’s town of La Virginia Risaralda in Colombia broke, causing massive flooding. The break has affected nearly 20,000 residents, many of them (including my Grandmother) have lost everything. The devastation is immense and much of the population is still struggling to make ends meet because of the Pandemic.

The Government of Risaralda has declared an emergency in La Virginia but little to no resources have been provided to the town’s residents. All donations, no matter how small will be put to use to provide clean water, food and basic necessities for the citizens of La Virginia. My family in Colombia will coordinate shipping and distribution of supplies as soon as roads are passable. Please help me to raise awareness of this devastating natural disaster.   Thank you!
