Turks Animals devastated by Irma
September 7, 2017, The Catagory 5 hurricane Irma came barreling through the small chain of islands known as Turks and Caicos. Not only did this storm dessimate the area, it has left families with little or no means to care for their pets.
The funds raised with this campaign will be used in their entirety, to providemedical care and food as needed. As the campaign continues, we will share the allocation of funds so donors can see what their generosity has provided.
These animal non-profits risked their lives to save these scared and injured animals. After the storm these animals have very little to return to, families homes that were so destroyed they will be barely able to care for themselves.
A great many people in the Turks and Caicos Islands live in poverty. They love their animals, but are financially unable to provide treatment, especially as they struggle to pull themselves out of the devastation caused by Irma. The goal is to prevent Islanders from having to give up or euthanize their beloved pets solely due to finances.
IPAW (International Pet Aid and Welfare) is a non profit based out of Minnesota is leading this fundraising effort to subsidize the medical care needed to treat injuries sustained in the hurricane. If funds allow, we will assist with the provision of food for these animals.
IPAW is working directly with SNiP TCI, a 100% volunteer charity in the Turks and Caicos Islands, to administer funds raised and ensure help gets to the most vulnerable in the community.
Finally, the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) in Mobile, AL, a non-profit, will be jumping in to contribute with fundraising and shipping of food and medical supplies.
Your contribution will directly help the animals of TCI to get the care that they so desperately need.
