Disaster Relief for Kwigillingok Village

Donation protected
A devastating typhoon recently struck Kwigillingok, Alaska, causing record-breaking floods that reached over six feet above the highest tide levels. The village, already facing harsh conditions, has lost homes and community spaces, and many families are now sheltering in the school or have been evacuated. Life in Kwigillingok is never easy, but this disaster has made survival even more difficult as winter sets in and temperatures drop below freezing.

My brother and his family live in Kwigillingok, and my sister-in-law was the daughter of the village’s eldest elder. Now, her brothers are among the current elders, working tirelessly to support everyone through this crisis. The people of Kwigillingok rely on hunting, fishing, and gathering for food, with all other supplies flown in. With the destruction caused by the typhoon, they urgently need help to secure shelter, food, warm clothing, and to begin rebuilding their homes and community.

Your support will help the people of Kwigillingok survive the winter and start the long process of rebuilding their village. Every contribution makes a difference in helping this resilient community recover and move forward.
