Disabled Marine Veteran Family Fund
Spende geschützt
My wife is my Caregiver and cannot get a normal job due to taking care of me, and now our son. The money I get every month does not stretch to meet unexpected expenses and the added costs of fuel for these trips. We would like to be able to do the following:
- A Concrete ADA accessible ramp to the front door with railing.
- The use of my Walker has placed wear and tear on our carpet. The carpet has worn and frayed in several places and is coming apart. The only option would be replacing it with alternate flooring that is smooth and more durable than the carpet.
- With winter approaching, we need a Generator (at least 10,000 watts) and the attachment to back-feed the electricity to the house. This way we do not spend the days without power in the cold….like last winter.
First & foremost, I am a proud Marine & Father who does not like to ask anyone for help.
In 1999, after High School graduation, I left for the United States Marine Corps. After three deployments, 8 years enlisted, and a medical separation I had to try to find my own way. After many years, I finally took my wife’s advice and sought help through the Veterans Affairs (VA) for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Along with PTSD, I have had many issues with my Lower Back since being in the Marine Corps. Which brings me to the reason for this GoFundMe.
I am pending surgery on my lower back, after having neck surgery a year and a half ago. We have to drive upwards of 2 and half hours one way to my many doctor appointments. I have been 5 times in the past week to different doctors. Our oldest son has Autism and requires many doctors’ appointments for this. In addition, he had an accident, which required knee surgery due to a torn ACL and torn Meniscus. Now, my wife must drive him twice a week to physical therapy, which is a 45-minute drive one-way.
I know this is a lot of information, but thank you for reading. Nevertheless, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance to everyone who decides to Donate.
