After a near death experience, I’m slowly trying to restart my life with minimal finances. Hi there my name is Chan/Charen (those in my circle refer to me with these names). The funds of this fundraiser will support my disability needs and medical expenses for hospital stays both in Canada and abroad that I’ve been paying out of pocket on very minimal income. I survived a natural disaster in Europe and also a severe accident in Canada. I am currently using a broken wheelchair which is very unsafe to use. There is been a lack of support from insurance companies and systemic barriers to access disability resources. I will also be starting a graduate degree in 2025 due to which I’ll need specialized ergonomic equipment. Your support will allow me to continue being a part of the community and working towards my goal of working in disability and accessibility policies through my graduate degree.
