My name is Andrea Perez, and I’m writing today on behalf of my brother, Chris, a proud disabled veteran, who is currently facing an unimaginable struggle that could tear his family apart.

For the past 8 years, Chris has been working hard to support his family—his loving wife, Kaya, and their two beautiful daughters, one of whom is only 9 months old. He found a job that allowed him to provide for his family and keep a roof over their heads, but recently, everything changed without warning.

Just two days before payday, he was informed by his employer that they would not be paying him the wages they owe him. No explanation, no apology—just a devastating blow to an already fragile situation. My brother, a disabled veteran, is struggling not only with the physical and mental toll of his service but also with the extreme limitations his disability imposes on his ability to find stable work.

To make matters even more complicated, my brother’s visa to stay in Japan is tied to his employment. If he quits or gets fired, he will be forced to leave Japan and return to the United States. However, his family has been denied U.S. visas, meaning his wife and children will be left behind. He can either work for free, risking his health and well-being, or face losing his family and home.

With no other options, my brother is desperate. He has no income, and his family is at risk of losing their home. If they can’t pay their rent or bills, they will be forced into homelessness. This situation is not just financially devastating—it’s a matter of keeping his family together.
