Disabled Veteran Filmmaker presenting “Video Play” at the Library of Congress, Washington D.C.
My name is Wayne Williams. I am a total and permanently disabled veteran. Barb, my wife of 38-years and I have been invited to present our video work at the Library of Congress. We have also been asked to create the event Video for UnitingUS.org, "From Conflict to Harmony through Creativity”. This presentation is hosted by the Library of Congress, Washington D.C. I have always had the dream of visiting the Library of Congress. This invitation to present my creative passion and record veteran artists is beyond what I could have imagined.
Since 2000 I have created “Video Play”. Where creative Video production is artistic therapy for PTSD, Play is creating without deadlines. No pressure. Has been this way for 22-years where I’ve recorded over 100 War Veteran interviews for the Veterans History Project. I produced years of Denvers audition tapes for the National VA Performing Arts Festival. And through this time I’ve created very many Video Plays for Veterans and our Community. Over the years this represents thousands of hours Video shoots, editing and producing quality Video Plays. I do all the jobs.
Our needs are the travel and expense from Denver and to replace my hard used Video gear. For 22 years I have created with gear that is now unreliable. Having created Video Play from my disability income only I ask your support for barb’s and my journey to this national event.
My intent is to record our journey making it available on my all original, non-commercial youtube channel, youtube.com/user/HodgeWilliams …Stay tuned as I get a Gold Ticket Pass to the National Archives. Your support is requested. Share everywhere.
Honorably, Wayne and Barb Williams.
Salute…
