Disabled Son Get Transport Van for Medical Needs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Donna a single parent, widowed, senior citizen and retired. I am in dire need for a wheelchair-access van to transport my severely handicapped son, to and from his doctor's appointments, therapy and social activities. He is stuck inside the house and I don't have the means to bring him out. The ambulette services (Medicaid transport) takes between 2 to 3 hours to bring my son back from his appointments. I have been experiencing this delay all of his life. The wait gets him aggravated and he suffers from seizures, which takes him to another level. This has been going on for years now and I didn't think about asking for help, but now it's critical. I have been using my car to bring him to and from his doctor's appointments, my car is too small and I have broken the trunk trying to secure the wheelchair in.
My son, Reuel Saney, has Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Mental Retardations, he is Quadriplegic and is Non-Verbal.
Especially in the summer, it is frustrating to have him left inside the house since I have no way to get him out. As you know, Access-A-Ride only goes to doctors appointment and the wait is horrendous. It has been horrible not to be able to go have dinner, social activities etc, etc.
Will you help me help my son Reuel to have reliable transport vehicle in the not too distant future.
The funds will be used to buy a wheelchair access van to transport my son and to make his life our lives a little more comfortable.
