That video is a little outdated, but it gets most of the point across until I can shoot a new one.
At the end of January, I will be forced to move from my apartment. I had to endure a severe leak and willful neglect from my landlord for three months. I had to throw away all of my clothes, my childhood stuffed animals, furniture, and books, and got no reimbursement. Due to being self-employed as a street musician in between jobs, I was unable to prove a continued ability to pay, so they will not be renewing my lease. This has been a nightmare, and I'm doing my best to take this tumble gracefully and land on my feet.
I'm trying to raise enough to cover my rent until the end of my lease on January 31, 2026. I'd also like to raise enough to cover moving expenses and the various costs associated with finding a new place to live.
There are many things that are going to make this difficult for me to achieve alone. I am physically disabled and limited to the bus line for transportation. I'm doing my best to find work in bartending or restaurant management, but opportunities are few and far between. I'm supplementing my search by busking (performing) on the street for tips. I have a beautiful 6-year-old puppy who relies on me to keep us housed.
If I can raise the funds to keep my roof, and get under a new one before this one topples, then I can focus on getting the right job and finding my new home with the limited time I have. If there's anything you can spare, I would greatly appreciate the help.
I'm 19 months sober, and I've been on unstable footing for years now. I'm ready to stick the landing and then hit the ground running into a better future. I just need to survive this.
In the spirit of the "telethon" I attempted in March, I will be trying to upload a video of a song once a day to advertise this GoFundMe. Please share those videos if you come across them! They will be posted to my YouTube (@RaeMulryan), my Instagram (@Prismatic_Rae), and my TikTok (@PrismaticRaeRVA).
