Disabled race driver needs help.

Jack was born on 28th December 2003 with a sizeable hole in his heart. Due to this heart defect he came close to death on many occasions. However surgical procedures over the next two years corrected this, leaving him with a leaking heart valve that is regularly checked on. This was followed by the diagnosis of a form of genetic arthritis in every joint in his body, causing pain and discomfort all the time as well as a diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome (autism), ADHD and OCD.

Jack was always the smallest kid of his age group and struggled to compete in sports at school due to his arthritic condition, but he always had a drive to compete on an equal level and to win. So he took to karting with an enthusiasm that is rarely seen. It wasn’t just a need to compete and win, but also to show that people all over the world with disabilities, are not to be written off in life.

Competing in a dangerous sport does have its risks that are only too obvious. But Jack wants to prove that a disability is not only a barrier to overcome, but also proof that an individual with a disability can be better than the best.

During his first seaon of racing he won the coveted title of 2017 Anglia Indoor Kart Champion. During this he won 5 of the 7 available , fastest lap bonus points and broke the lap record for his class.

He has appeared on BBC1 East and is about to appear on BBC3 iplayer. He has also started racing more powerful equipment on outdoor circuits and is proving himself to be a force to be reckond with.

It takes money and time to get to the top. The need for more competative racing, and continue to be an advocate for people with disabilities is driving him on. We have plenty of time, but unfortunately very little money. Therfore, we are asking for funds to help enable Jack to continue doing great work. The money would be used for continuing entrance fee, saftey equipment and hopefullysoon a proper racing kart. I'm sure you will agree it's a great cause.
