Hi friends and family and other kind people. It’s Nicole Fay with my adorable dogs Gimpy and Piglet. I now live in San Diego as I moved from the Bay Area to continue my education after I was injured on duty. I was on patrol when arresting a violent suspect, which left me unable to perform my duties.
I learned this year that I have end stage liver disease amongst other related ailments. I have been in and out of the hospital over the past year getting numerous tests and treatments. I see various doctors every week and I have been experiencing the worst pain of my life. For a long time I could not breath normally ( large amounts of infected fluid in abdomen) move my limbs and even lift my head. It has been a struggle to even get through tasks for daily living.
I am very prideful and don’t like to ask for help. I am in a vulnerable position where I am on the organ transplant list for a new liver and the medical bills are building beyond what I can afford on my own.
I would almost rather sit on the corner begging for change than ask, but if you can find it in your heart to donate any amount so I can get my head above water and work on getting healthy!
Pictures show a healthy before and my transition into a sickly person. I’m doing everything the doctors tell me. I want to live to take care of my doggies and go back to helping others. I have scaled my life down to living in a small apartment with no frills and life thrills. But as long as I live to see another day I feel lucky.
Thank you for hearing a bit of my story. I could write a book, but I didn’t want to bore you.
Much love and happiness to you and your loved ones.
Nicole Fay
