Disabled Firefighter, recently diagnosed with ALS

Dennis Ryan is a man who's life was dedicated to helping others, has been met by an unfortunate turn of events. Dennis, was a Hialeah Firefighter for approximately 20 years. He loved his job and was always happy to help the community he served. Never in a bad mood and always willing to help he fellow firefighter, he always had a smile.  As fate would have it, while working he was struck by a vehicle and hospitalized. That injury ended up being career ending for him, as it left him permanently disabled. He underwent multiple surgeries, over 30 to be exact. That was 16 years ago. Throughout the past 16 years, he maintained that positive attitude and continued to smile about the cards life has dealt him. Dennis has not only been struggled through his surgeries, but he has also been the driving force in raising his son and daughter as a single parent. As a single parent and forced to stop doing what he loved, he has now been struck another blow. Dennis was diagnosed with A.L.S. or Lou Gehrig's disease. Having just turned 61 last month, he is suffering though this diagnosis and afliction at a rather young age. Dennis having been deemed disabled in 2005, has been on a fixed income since then, and is now working again through the medical bills associated with this disease. He is looking at a lot of out of pocket costs and this is the reason for this Gofundme page. Please consider giving a little something to help Dennis out in this time of struggle. We have a little bit of good news Dennis Ryan has been accepted the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota next week where he will be undergoing many test and hopefully treatment.
