Today, I’m writing on behalf of my brother, Jamie, who is in urgent need of housing support.
Jamie is 69 years old, living on disability, and raising his 8-year-old son. He suffers from COPD and has survived a major aortic aneurysm surgery. Despite these challenges, he fought for custody of his son—who is not biologically his—but whom he loves unconditionally. After his wife left the family, she tragically passed away from a heart attack caused by untreated diabetes.
Jamie has always been a devoted father, but when the owner of the home he was renting passed away and the property was sold, he and his son were forced into an extended-stay hotel. He saved $30,000 and, unable to secure a loan due to a lack of credit history, purchased a trailer home outright. Unfortunately, after the sale, he discovered extensive hidden water damage—something he had no experience to anticipate. Now, with only $3,000 left, he faces significant repairs before the home is livable.
Jamie’s situation is urgent, and any help would make a life-changing difference for him and his son.
While he has been blessed by a local builder who is donating some supplies, he will need funds to pay for labor, a new stove, and remaining supplies.
